2026 Night of Stars Gilt Sale Smashes Previous Record- Hitting Two Million Dollars- $14,914 Average Per Gilt

The top 135 gilts out of the almost 3,000 that were shown last week at the 2026 OYE Gilt show were in the spotlight on Tuesday night at the 2026 Night of Stars Gilt Sale- and it was a record result for the 4-H and FFA consignors. Totals for the night came in at two million dollars total with the per gilt average also a record at $14,914 per gilt.

Lot number 1- the Supreme Champion Commercial Gilt, owned by Makenna Oliver of Velma- Alma FFA quickly was bid in record territory, far eclipsing the previous record set in 2024 of $175,000- the final bid for the top crossbred Gilt in the sale was $380,000. Oliver’s gilt was a son of Dog Eat Dog.

Gilts were sold to breeders who liked their pedigrees and genetics from coast to coast with buyers mentioned from coast to coast during the course of the three hour plus sale. Multiple gilts are headed for California as well as to Illinois.

Besides the first gilt sold on Tuesday evening- there was a second gilt that brought six figures- the 3rd overall Commercial Gilt, shown by Layne Allen of Canute 4-H and bred by Goss Livestock, commanded $130,000. Later in the sale, the 51st gilt sold- also by Layne Allen- added $20,000 to her Night of Stars Gilt Sale totals.

Two other gilts received bids for $70,000 plus. The 20th gilt sold- 9th overall Dark Crossbred owned by Jace Clark of Morris FFA brought $70,000 while in the back half of the sale- the surprise winning bid was for $75,000 for the 117th gilt sold on the evening. That gilt was the 46th Dark Crossbred- owned and shown by Maverick Mosteller of Fort Gibson 4-H.

The Purebred Stars of the evening were the top three placing Spots. The top Spot gilt was the Supreme Champion Purebred- and she brought her owner $45,000. Mylee Coleman of Madill FFA was the proud owner of that gilt.

Reserve Champion Spot was the 21st gilt sold- owned by Nicholas Armitage of Miller 4-H- he got a bid for $40,000 for his daughter of Trust Me. The third highest purebred gilt sale of the night was the third place Spot- selling for $35,000- owned and shown by Alyssa Moore of Blair FFA.
