NFU Convention Concludes, Advocacy Training Applications Open

President Rob Larew adjourned the 124th Anniversary Convention in New Orleans on Monday after the assembled delegates approved and passed the 2026 NFU Policy Book along with three timely special orders of business: Family Farmers, the Farm Crisis, and the Future of Food and Farm PolicyFamily Farming and the Roots of Our Democracy; and Family Farming and Dairy Policy Reform. NFU welcomed over 500 family farmers, ranchers, and supporters of family agriculture to the Big Easy last weekend.
The assembled delegates to NFU’s 124th Anniversary Convention also cast their ballots to unanimously re-elect Rob Larew and Jeff Kippley as the organization’s President and Vice President, respectively. Each will serve another two-year term.
NFU honored Dr. Dale McCall of Colorado, former Rocky Mountain Farmers Union President, and Joe Logan of Ohio, former Ohio Farmers Union President, with awards for Meritorious Service to Farmers Union and to American Agriculture, the highest honor presented by Farmers Union, at the opening banquet Friday night.
“The challenges facing family farmers and ranchers continue to grow more complex,” said NFU President Rob Larew. “But through it all, Farmers Union continues to do something Washington too often struggles to achieve: bringing people with diverse viewpoints together, working through tough issues and emerging with solutions they built collectively. That unity is our greatest strength.”
“NFU’s democratic, grassroots process has united family farmers and ranchers for more than a century,” said NFU Vice President Jeff Kippley. “This year was no exception. We’re leaving New Orleans energized, organized and ready to tackle the challenges ahead with clear purpose and strong momentum.”
