In the latest Crop Progress report from USDA, the U.S. Corn Crop is rated 57% Good to Excellent this week, equal to 57% a week ago. Corn harvested stands at 18%. Soybean crop conditions are rated 58% good to excellent this week, equal to 58% last week. Soybeans harvested stands at 17%.
The U.S. Cotton Crop is rated 35% good to excellent this week versus 34% a week ago, improving by 1 point. Cotton harvested stands at 17%. For the U.S. Grain Sorghum crop, the latest good to excellent ratings are 26%, down 1 point from last week’s 27%. Sorghum harvested stands at 29%.
Winter Wheat planting now stands at 27%, compared to 17% one week ago and 32% at this point last year. In Oklahoma, wheat planting now stands at 7% compared to 4% a week ago and 30% at this point last year. Texas wheat planting is now 30% compared to 21% one week ago and 37% at this point last year. Kansas is now 18% planted compared to 10% one week ago and 16% at this point last year.
Pasture and Range
In the southern plains, Oklahoma pasture and range conditions are now ranked 7% good to excellent, versus 5% last week and 55% a year ago. Poor to very poor ratings are now at 65%, versus 67% a week ago and 10% a year ago.
Kansas good to excellent conditions are ranked at 24% compared to 24% last week and 62% a year ago. Poor to very poor conditions are ranked 37% this week, 39% last week, and 12% a year ago.
Texas good to excellent conditions are ranked 11% this week, 11% last week, and 26% a year ago. Poor to very poor conditions are ranked 59% this week, 60% a week ago, and 32% a year ago.
The 48-state national pasture and range conditions are now at 19% good to excellent versus 17% last week and 32% one year ago. Poor to very poor ratings nationally are at 51% this week versus 53% last week and 35% one year ago.
Corn Statistics:
