After Record High Temps, a Cold Front is Headed this Way

Oklahoma Set some records yesterday, with this being the 4th warmest January on Record for Oklahoma City. According to State Climatologist Gary McManus, “Burneyville tied the all-time record high-temperature yesterday for anywhere in the state on any January 10 dating back to the 1880s.”

Today McManus says we will see extreme fire weather conditions setting up across far Western Oklahoma, “As that cold front approaches from the west, we’ll see those winds kick up to 50-60 mph out that way, the humidity drop into the 10-15% range.”

A cold front is headed toward the state, and with Oklahoma winds, it will feel much colder than the actual air temps.

So far no rain is in the forecast. McManus said we may see something later into the weekend and possibly early next week.
