USDA Southern Plains Climate Hub and Partners to host Sustainable Farming in a Changing Climate Seminar on April 29 for Producers in Clearview, Oklahoma

The seminar will focus on tools to help small and medium sized as well as underserved producers.

As part of their ongoing commitment to help production agriculture in Oklahoma and the Southern Plains region of the United States, the USDA Southern Plains Climate Hub (Climate Hub), in partnership with the City of Clearview, Langston University, Oklahoma State University and other collaborators will be hosting a sustainable farming in a changing climate seminar 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 in Clearview, Oklahoma. This event will inform small and medium sized agriculture producers about different strategies and initiatives available to help them increase profits and improve production.

“We are very excited to be a partner in this effort to provide assistance to smaller and underserved farmers and ranchers,” said Andres Cibils, Director of the Southern Plains Climate Hub. “This is a great opportunity to share information about some of the initiatives that are available to help small farmers and ranchers maintain productivity and improve their overall profitability.”

Topics at the event will include a discussion of climate-smart agriculture practices, urban agriculture, goat production ‘nose to tail,’ USDA agency assistance programs, rainwater harvesting, small acreage gardening, and educational opportunities for community youth.
