Big Iron Auctions Looking Forward to Another Year of Working with OYE Ag Mechanics Show

Listen to KC Sheperd talk with Kurt Campbell about Big Iron Auctions.

Farm Director, KC Sheperd is talking with the Vice President of Agricultural Sales at Big Iron Auctions, Kurt Campbell, about the services offered on the website and how this year has been in the ag sales realm.

Big Iron conducts online auctions to help individuals sell land, equipment, and livestock. Campbell said over 1.4 million individual IP addresses view the auction site per month.

“There are quite a few items coming up for several sellers, not only just in Oklahoma, but the surrounding states and Texas, and Arkansas, and Kansas…” Campbell said.

Campbell added that there are over 8,000 items posted on the Big Iron website for auction.

One highlight of the year Campbell mentioned is having the chance to be the platform utilized to auction off items from the Oklahoma Youth Expo ag mechanics competition.

“It has been a pleasure to work for that organization, and that auction is in March,” Campbell said. “Looking forward to helping again and the items are very well made, and the prices are good. We are happy to be able to support that.”

Big Iron Auctions employs local sales representatives across the country, Campbell said, so if an individual is interested in auctioning off an item on the website, they can find a sales representative in their area by contacting the main office at 1-800-937-3558.

“What is unique is that we have representatives that will come right directly to you and talk about your equipment and assets whether that be land or livestock to be able to get that information, collect it, and select the auction date and show that to the world,” Campbell said.

Campbell said the sales representatives are very well-trained to photograph equipment and assets for the website.

Regarding agricultural sales this year, Campbell said there have been some record highs.

“We are still above pre-Covid prices,” Campbell said. “2021 and 2022 were really strong, and we know some of the reasons for that- the limited inventory. The good quality equipment is still bringing a premium price.”
