If You Wear Cotton, You Are Invited to the 2024 Denim Ball at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in OKC!

Listen to KC Sheperd talk with Charity Martin about the 2024 Denim Ball,

Mark your calendars for the 2024 Denim Ball planned for April 5th and 6th at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City. If you wear cotton, you are invited! Farm Director KC Sheperd recently had the chance to visit with Oklahoma Cotton Council Member Services Representative, Charity Martin, and talk about this year’s event.

“This event is Oklahoma’s fundraiser for the Committee for the Advancement of Cotton,” Martin said. “That is the National Cotton Council’s PAC fund that they use to support the cotton industry on a variety of levels.”

Each state is responsible for raising a certain amount of money to go towards the national fund, Martin said, so the Denim Ball allows Oklahomans to come together to raise money and support the cotton industry.

“Friday night is a kick-off, and we have a welcome reception that is Casino Night,” Martin said. “Last year was the first year that we had Casino Night, and it was a blast. I think I’d be in trouble if we didn’t do it again this year.”

On Saturday morning, Martin said a golf tournament will be at the Trosper Park Golf Course. Admission is $250 per team, and awards will be given to the first, second, and third place, along with awards for the longest drive and closest pin.

“Saturday night, April 6th, is the official 2024 Denim Ball,” Martin said. “We will have a live auction, a silent auction, and another really cool thing that this committee started was the Oklahoma Cotton Hall of Fame. We will induct two new members into that this year.”

Margin said the Demin Ball is aimed to be a fun weekend for attendees with no meetings or business!

“We want to give you a break,” Margin said. “Come relaxed and celebrate with those like-minded producers.”

For those looking to give back to cotton producers through a Demin Ball sponsorship, Martin said there are three different sponsorship levels that can be FOUND HERE.

Registration is open now, Martin said, and more information can be accessed HERE.

“Even though this is an Oklahoma event, if you are coming from another state and you donate money to CAC (Committee for the Advancement of Cotton), that money is going to go back to your state’s fund for CAC,” Martin said.
