Lucas Honors Memory of OKC Bombing

Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement on the 29th anniversary of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma:

“Every year, on the 19th of April, Oklahomans and Americans everywhere reflect on the 168 innocent lives lost in a heinous act of terror. For many of us, the wounds of that day are still painful. I will never forget feeling the blast that shook the foundation of our city and the lives of so many,” said Congressman Lucas. “Let’s also not forget the absolute best humanity could do for each other in the response that came afterwards. I’m reminded of the army of first responders who quickly descended onto the rubble of 5th Street and the kindness fellow Oklahomans shared while answering the community’s call for care. Oklahoma City will always be in my heart, and just as I do every April 19th, I pray for and remember the children, mothers, fathers, and neighbors who are no longer with us. May their memory help shape a better future for us all.”
