Limousin and Lim-Flex breeders were under the bright lights at the Cattlemen’s Congress to showcase their genetics. The Level 1 Medal of Excellence Limousin Show was held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Oklahoma City. Lance Sennett, Waynetown, Ind., evaluated the 120 females and 20 bulls.
The Grand Champion Limousin Female SSUL Forever Charmed exhibited by Carter Kornegay, Tulsa, Okla. She is a February 20, 2023, 42% Lim-Flex female sired by Silveiras Style 9303. This female was first named division five champion.
Jacee Parrish, Liberty, Texas, exhibited the Reserve Champion Limousin Female. Ratliff Legacy 301L ET is a February 2, 2023, 84% Limousin female sired by FWLY Can Do. This heifer also came from division five
The Grand Champion Cow/Calf pair was also exhibited by Carter Kornegay, Tulsa, Okla. ELCX Kate 332K ET. She is a May 16, 2022, 53% Lim-Flex, out of ELCX Kings Landing 599 D ET.
Colt Parkinson, Levelland, Texas, exhibited the Reserve Champion Cow/Calf pair with LFL Fiesta 8126 F. She is a November 4, 2018, 82% Limousin, sired by LFL Deluxe Edition 6029D ET.
In the bull show, AHL GW Living The Dream was named Grand Champion Limousin Bull. He is a January 25, 2023, 96% Limousin Bull sired by BLCC Grass Roots 70G. This bull was exhibited by Greenwood Cattle and After Hours Limousin and was Division five champion.
The Reserve Champion Limousin Bull was DEBV MC Hammer 419M, a January 25, 2024, 59% Lim-Flex bull sired by Alter Ego. This bull came from division two and was exhibited by Deb V, Treynor, Iowa.
At the conclusion of the show, the premier breeder award went to Tim Schaeffer, Hagerstown, Ind. The premier exhibitor award went to Carter Kornegay, Tulsa, Okla.
During the week of Cattlemen’s Congress, exhibitors nominate candidates and vote for the Herdsman of the Year Award. The 2025 Limousin herdsman winner was Elgin Elmore, Hominy, Okla.
