Introducing Bridger Lott of the Hydro-Eakly FFA Chapter, Your 2025 Southwest Area Star in Ag Placement

Listen to KC Sheperd talking with Bridger Lott ahead of the State FFA Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

During the month of April, the Radio Oklahoma Ag Network and Oklahoma Farm Report are spotlighting the 19 Area Stars of Oklahoma FFA, who are among the highest achievers in the organization.

The stars come from the five areas in four categories – Star in Ag Placement, Star in Agriscience, Star in Agribusiness, and Star in Agricultural Production.

This week, we spotlight the five area stars in Ag Placement in 2025.

One Star Finalist featured in the coming days from each of the categories will be named the State Star Award Winner during the 99th Oklahoma State FFA Convention, which will take place on May 6th and 7th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This week, our coverage of the 2025 Oklahoma FFA Star Award Finalists continues with Ag Placement competitor Bridger Lott of the Hydro-Eakly FFA chapter representing the Southwest Area.

Lott’s project began with a literal disaster. His family home in Madill was destroyed by a tornado two years ago, and his family moved to the Hydro-Eakly area. That is where he met Tom Entz, with DTE Land and Cattle Co., who subsequently gave him a job.

Explaining a typical day of work on his project, Lott said, “Every morning, we fuel up tractors, then we do whatever has to be done for the day. From driving big, four-wheel drive tractors to swathing, raking, baling hay, hauling hay. We put up a lot of hay during the summer.”

His FFA journey began early, showing and judging livestock with the Madill 4-H and FFA chapters. “My favorite thing to do is show hogs,” he said. “I love everything about it. We have sows at the house, and we’ve been fortunate to raise a couple of good ones that we have had some luck in competing with.”

Lott has a passion for livestock judging, and the Hydro-Eakly FFA team already had a good reputation in competitions. This was a major reason that his family relocated to that region after the tornado. It is also the reason that Lott is bound for Redland’s Community College on a full-ride scholarship after graduation. When he finishes there, he plans to transfer his credits to Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in agribusiness.
