Introducing Brady Lott of the Alva FFA Chapter, Your 2025 Northwest Area Star in Agricultural Production

Listen to KC Sheperd talking with Brady Lott ahead of the State FFA Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

During the month of April, the Radio Oklahoma Ag Network and Oklahoma Farm Report are spotlighting the 19 Area Stars of Oklahoma FFA, who are among the highest achievers in the organization.

The stars come from the five areas in four categories – Star in Ag Placement, Star in Agriscience, Star in Agribusiness, and Star in Agricultural Production.

This week, we spotlight the five area stars in Agricultural Production in 2025.

One Star Finalist featured in the coming days from each of the categories will be named the State Star Award Winner during the 99th Oklahoma State FFA Convention, which will take place on May 6th and 7th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This week, our coverage of the 2025 Oklahoma FFA Star Award Finalists continues with Agricultural Production competitor Brady Lott of the Alva FFA chapter representing the Northwest Area.

Lott began his project, a registered Angus cow herd in 2021. The herd currently encompasses 43 head of mama cows and an extensive embryo program. He also raises show cattle.

His father and grandfather also raise registered Angus cattle which is where Lott’s inspiration stemmed from. “I wanted to follow in their footsteps, but also have an operation that I could call my own,” he said. “I think they set a really good example and I get their advice a lot on things I should do such as breeding management. I have tried to model it after them as much as I could, but add my own unique flair to it in a spot or two.”

His FFA career began with livestock judging in third grade. “I knew at an extremely young age that I wanted to be in FFA,” he shared. “Throughout the years, I have my SAE program. I have continued to judge livestock. This year, I am also the chapter president, and I have been on the chapter officer team for the previous two years.”

Needless to say, Lott intends to continue his project by keeping his herd size small throughout his college years but wants to expand it after college. He wants to join the livestock judging team at Redlands Community College, after which he intends to obtain a Bachelors in Animal Science and a Doctorates in Ruminant Nutrition from Oklahoma State University to ultimately become a feedlot and ranch nutritionist.
