Comstock Joins AFR Team as Youth Coordinator

American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) Cooperative has selected Cara Comstock, Wann, to lead the AFR Youth Program. As AFR Youth Coordinator, Comstock will develop and facilitate all AFR Youth Program activities and guide the program as it continues to grow.

“The AFR Youth Program is the premier agricultural youth program in Oklahoma,” said AFR Cooperative President Scott Blubaugh. “Education is one of the founding principles of our organization and I have no doubt Cara Comstock will improve upon our long history education in rural Oklahoma. She will make an excellent addition to our team.”

Comstock most recently worked as an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisors at Oklahoma Union Public School. Through this role, she will bring a wealth of relevant experience to her new position as AFR Youth Coordinator, including management of speech contests, livestock shows and camps. She has also volunteered as a judge for the AFR Speech Contests and as a cabin parent for the AFR Leadership Summit.

“I am incredibly excited to join the AFR Cooperative team and build upon the traditions of the youth program,” said Comstock. “I’m looking forward to working with great students and supporters across the state to continue to advance the AFR Youth Program through leadership, service and community.”

Comstock was raised on a diversified crop and livestock operation in southwest Missouri and was deeply involved in 4-H and FFA, where she competed in public speaking, livestock judging and more. During her time in FFA, Comstock served as Missouri Area IV Vice-President. She earned her bachelor’s from Kansas State University in 2019. While at KSU, she was a member of the 2018 National Champion Meat Animal Evaluation Team and the 2018 Reserve National Champion Collegiate Livestock Judging Team.

AFR Cooperative is a membership services organization established in 1905 as Oklahoma Farmers Union. AFR leads educational, legislative and cooperative programs across the state and serves as a watchdog for Oklahoma’s family farmers and ranchers and rural communities. The organization is actively supportive of the state’s agricultural industry and rural population with membership consisting of farmers actively involved in production agriculture and non-farmers adding their voice in support of AFR principles.
