While the weekend was a washout for farmers in parts of Oklahoma- there were areas that had only limited amounts of rain- the shot above came in from Fred Schmedt Sunday night in the Tipton area.
Here’s the rainfall totals as recorded by the Oklahoma Mesonet since last Thursday morning as of 4:40 AM(The map is clickable):

Many Mesonet stations in southwest Oklahoma have recorded less than an inch of rain since last Thursday- from Altus to Hobart to Medicine Park Grandfield to Walters to Waurika. The reports we have been receiving is that wheat fields are ripe and they are waiting for moisture levels to fall enough to roll.
One farmer that was worried about the weekend weather decided to move forward on Saturday ahead of the concerns about high winds, hail and rain expected Saturday night. Matt Muller of Jackson County posted on Facebook this picture- saying he was trying to harvest what he could and planned to put it in his on farm storage and use dryers to bring the moisture levels down from the 15%s.

Our next snapshot from both the Oklahoma Wheat Commission and the USDA Crop Progress report will be coming out later on Monday. Lots of prayers were being lifted up on Sunday morning in Sunday Schools and Worship Services across the region for a window to safely harvest the 2025 wheat crop.
