Oklahoma’s Wheat Harvest Falls Well Behind Five-Year Average: Down 18 Percentage Points

US Crop Progress Report:

Winter Wheat headed reached 88 percent, equal to the previous year and up 2 points from the five-year average. Winter wheat harvested reached 4 percent, down 7 points from a year ago and 3 from the five-year average. Winter wheat conditions rated 54 percent good to excellent, 30 percent fair, and 16 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 52 percent good to excellent, 30 percent fair, and 18 percent poor to very poor.

Corn planted reached 97 percent, up 3 percentage points from last year and equal to the five-year average. Corn emerged reached 87 percent, up 4 percentage points from a year ago and equal to the five-year average. Corn conditions rated 71 percent good to excellent, 24 percent fair, and 5 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 69 percent good to excellent, 26 percent fair, and 5 percent poor to very poor.

Soybeans planted reached 90 percent, up 4 percentage points from a year ago, and 2 from the five-year average. Soybeans emerged reached 75 percent, up 7 points from last year and 3 points from the five-year average. Last week’s conditions rated 72 percent good to excellent, 22 percent fair, and 6 percent poor to very poor.

Sorghum planted reached 43 percent, down 10 points from a year ago but up 2 points from the five-year average. No sorghum conditions were provided.
