Wheat Harvest Reports and More From Across Oklahoma on Sunday 6/28/25

Via SUNUP- Don Schieber Final Harvest June 2025

Senior Farm and Ranch Broadcaster Ron Hays put the word out on Sunday afternoon, June 29th, for harvest updates from farmers across the state- and several responded. Here’s what was shared across the state:

Alfalfa/Woods county line report on heavily grazed wheat:
Yields 58-81 bushels/acre
Test weights were 59 lbs/bushel
Less than 1% left to harvest, just the mud holes- Custom harvesters are moving N, into KS and CO. (Shared by Glen Shoulders)

Kay County (Courtesy of Tom Cannon)
Five more good days to go. Cutting dirty flooded fields as they dry.
Good yield.

Billings Area (Courtesy of Martin Williams
Still a struggle around here. Had another big rain shower near Billings where most of my crop is left in field. Yields still good north of red rock, and test weight 58 pounds/ bushel

Retrop- Southwest Oklahoma (Courtesy of Peter McKay
Got rain last night near Retrop, 100 acres left. And a combine big front tire went flat in field. The woes of worthless harvest

Done, and 2026 will be a better year.

Northeast Oklahoma (Courtesy of Alisen Anderson)
Northeast Oklahoma got rained out on Friday. Most are over halfway done. Subpar at best.

Specifically- Ottawa County (Courtesy of Zach Rendel)
Popcorn showers rained us out Friday,
6 hours from being done. Test weight averages near 52 pounds/Bushel
On the soybean side of things, less than 5% planted in Ottawa County. Lots of talk of taking Prevent plant.
Corn and Sorghum got a drink!
Fungicide being flown on now.

AND FINALLY- a NON Wheat Report from McCurtain County (Courtesy of Brent Bolen)
You didn’t ask for this but there’s zero wheat that i know of In McCurtain County. However, Red River bottoms looks like Iowa. I think every row crop acre in the county got planted to corn and it looks as good as I’ve ever witnessed!!!

Our next “Official” crop reports will be released on Monday when we will have the USDA NASS Crop Progress report in the afternoon and the latest Oklahoma Wheat Commission Wheat Harvest Report
