Secretary Kennedy Launches ‘Take Back Your Health’ Tour in Pennsylvania, Rallying at Capitol and Meeting With Family Farmers

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. kicked off the nationwide “Take Back Your Health” Tour in Pennsylvania today, leading two events focused on the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the Trump administration’s efforts to Make America Healthy Again.

At the State Capitol in Harrisburg, Secretary Kennedy joined more than a dozen Pennsylvania legislators to highlight the Trump administration’s first-year public health accomplishments of the President’s second term, including unveiling a new food pyramid, cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid, and securing Most Favored Nation agreements that lower prescription drug costs for Americans.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are driving a generational shift in American health care,” Secretary Kennedy said. “Earlier this month, Secretary Brooke Rollins and I delivered the most significant reset of federal nutrition policy in decades with the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans. I thank Representative David Rowe and his colleagues in the Pennsylvania State Legislature for advancing public health.”

Legislators featured at the event included State Representatives David H. Rowe (R-85), Senator Judy Ward (R-30), Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-28), Senator Michelle Brooks (R-50), Representative Robert Leadbeter (R-109), Representative Natalie Mihalek (R-40), Representative Jesse Topper (R-78), and Representative Jake Banta (R-4).

“We’re grateful to Secretary Kennedy for choosing Pennsylvania, an agricultural powerhouse, to kick off the Eat Real Food Tour,” Representative Rowe said. “I’ve seen firsthand how eating real food can reverse disease and restore health, and I’m proud that Pennsylvania is leading bipartisan efforts to make healthier choices more accessible and health care more affordable for every family in our Commonwealth.”

Secretary Kennedy traveled from Harrisburg to Manheim in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where third-generation owner Ron Kreider welcomed him to Kreider Farms for a tour of the dairy’s “Moo-ternity Barn” and Rotary Parlor milking facility. The visit concluded with a roundtable discussion with local farmers and a conversation with elderly residents about the needs of Pennsylvania’s rural communities.

“Thank you, Secretary Kennedy, for your leadership, your faith, and your courage to literally turn the food pyramid upside-down using real science,” Kreider Farms proprietor Ron Kreider said. “We are a real family farm producing real food, and we are excited to do our part to improve nutrition across America.”

“I thank Ron Kreider for opening his family farm, and I thank the farmers and local residents who shared the realities of rural life,” Secretary Kennedy said. “HHS is implementing President Trump’s $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Fund — the largest federal investment in rural health in American history. Rural communities form the backbone of this country, and under President Trump and my watch, Washington will no longer ignore them.”
