Oklahoma’s Cheyenne Sparks Steps into National Leadership Role with ANCW

Speaking with senior farm and ranch broadcaster Ron Hays at CattleCon, Cheyenne Sparks of Oklahoma CattleWomen shared the excitement surrounding her new leadership role with the American National CattleWomen. Sparks announced that she has been elected vice president of ANCW, calling it the culmination of a long journey of involvement. “I’m very excited to share that I was elected as the vice president of the American National CattleWomen,” she said, noting her involvement with the organization dates back 16 years to her collegiate days at Oklahoma State University.

Sparks reflected on how her passion for beef promotion was shaped early on and nurtured through years of mentorship within the organization. “I really found that joy of beef promotion at Oklahoma State University, and I feel as though I’ve truly been raised by these women all these years,” she told Hays. She added that her motivation now is to give back, saying she has “this immense want to pour back into this organization the way it’s poured into me all these years.”

The conversation also highlighted Oklahoma’s strong presence at the national level this year. Sparks pointed to several notable accomplishments, including Connie Tabor being named ANCW CattleWoman of the Year. “We have a very big Oklahoma involvement on the national level. It’s been a great week for Oklahoma,” Sparks said, emphasizing the grassroots nature of the organization and how leaders bring ideas and education back to their home states to put into action.

Looking ahead, Sparks discussed what excites her most about serving ANCW in the coming year. She emphasized the organization’s focus on beef promotion while supporting the industry through education and development. “Our mission is truly beef promotion,” she said, noting key initiatives such as National Beef Ambassadors and the W.I.R.E.D. program. Ultimately, Sparks said she’s eager to grow as a leader and work alongside other members nationwide, adding, “I’m going to get to learn and grow in this position as a leader, and then also get to see all of these amazing women at work.”

Congratulations Cheyenne Sparks
