National Sorghum Producers Opens Applications for 2026 Board of Directors

National Sorghum Producers has opened applications for the 2026 board of directors. NSP is seeking producer leaders who are passionate about advancing the crop and helping shape the future of the sorghum industry.

“Strong farmer leadership has never been more important,” said NSP Chair Amy France, a farmer from Scott City, Kan. “As we face both challenges and new opportunities, we need producers at the table who are willing to step up, engage and help guide the direction of our industry. If you care about the future of sorghum and agriculture, we encourage you to apply.”

Board members play a critical role in advancing policy priorities and strengthening relationships that benefit sorghum farmers nationwide. Candidates should be NSP members with an interest in advocacy and fundraising and a desire to move the industry forward. No prior board experience is required.

“We’re looking for leaders who are ready to be engaged and make an impact,” NSP CEO Tim Lust said. “This is a pivotal time for agriculture, and our board helps ensure sorghum producers have a strong, unified voice in Washington. It’s an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the future of the industry.”

Applications are due May 1, 2026, at 5 p.m. Central Time. Following the deadline, the NSP Nominating Committee will review submissions and bring forward nominations for consideration and election at the August board meeting. Selected members will serve a three-year term beginning October 1, 2026, the start of NSP’s fiscal year.
