U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz announced today that the Trump Administration provided a USDA Rural Development grant to the City of Laverne and Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City to grow small and emerging businesses.
The Administration’s investment will work to support three local businesses in Laverne and a small business incubator run by Pioneer Technology Center to increase job and business growth in those two communities.
“President Trump is a successful businessman who understands that supporting small and emerging businesses in communities like Laverne and Ponca City are a driving factor to ensure rural Oklahoma communities continue to thrive for the next generation,” said Swartz. “USDA though its Rural Development Business Programs has invested more than $185 million in capital during this Administration to support rural Oklahoma businesses. As a result of this Administration’s business friendly approach, the State of Oklahoma has experienced historic growth with a reported overall investment of nearly $15 billion statewide by new and expanding companies in the past year and a half.”
“Families are strong when communities are strong and communities thrive when local entrepreneurs have the opportunity to grow and succeed,” said Senator James Lankford. “These grants will help Laverne and Ponca City businesses expand and strengthen the local economies that keep rural Oklahoma moving forward. Thank you to the Trump Administration and USDA Rural Development for putting resources to work where they can make a real difference.”
“I am grateful for the Trump Administration’s investment into both Laverne and Ponca City for bolstering their small businesses and creating jobs,” said U.S. Representative (OK-03) Frank Lucas. “Thanks to USDA’s leadership, rural America is being prioritized, and I’m pleased to see this funding go towards bettering the lives of Oklahomans through new jobs and supporting their local communities.”
The funding is provided through USDA Rural Development’sBusiness Programs. These programs provide loans, loan guarantees, and grants that are available to individuals, businesses, cooperatives, farmers and ranchers, public bodies, non-profit corporations, Native American Tribes, and private companies in rural communities.
