The U.S. cotton crop is rated 36% good to excellent this week, up 2 points from a week ago. Cotton harvested is at 8% nationally. For the U.S. grain sorghum crop, the latest good-to-excellent ratings are 28%, equal to last week. Sorghum harvested is at 22% nationally. Winter wheat planted is at 8% nationally.
Pasture and Range
In the southern plains, Oklahoma pasture and range conditions are now ranked 9% good to excellent, versus 7% last week and 59% a year ago. Poor to very poor ratings are now at 64%, versus 69% a week ago and 12% a year ago.
Kansas good to excellent conditions are ranked at 26% compared to 23% last week and 60% a year ago. Poor to very poor conditions are ranked 40% this week, 41% last week, and 13% a year ago.
Texas good to excellent conditions are ranked 12% this week, 10% last week, and 34% a year ago. Poor to very poor conditions are ranked 58% this week, 60% a week ago, and 27% a year ago.
The 48-state national pasture and range conditions are now at 19% good to excellent versus 18% last week and 35% one year ago. Poor to very poor ratings nationally are at 51% this week versus 53% last week and 35% one year ago.
