OCCA Ice Cream Social: Two Scoops Of Policy: The Farm Bill & One Big Beautiful Bill

The Okfuskee County Cattlemen’s Association is excited to announce that this quarterly meeting’s guest speaker is Kallie Clifton, who serves as our Southeast Area Economist with OSU Extension.

The Okfuskee County Cattlemen’s Association would like to invite the community to attend their June 20, 2026 meeting at 6 p.m. at the Okfuskee County Fairgrounds in Okemah. No membership is required to attend, just an interest in learning more about the beef industry and building community. A fantastic cheeseburger dinner and homemade ice cream are provided by the local cattlemen for free to the community and locals interested in joining the association.

Our guest speaker, Kallie, brings a strong foundation in agriculture and economics to producers across the region. She holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University, where she worked with Dr. Derrell Peel and Dr. Kellie Raper. With a background shaped by years of hands-on experience in the cattle business, Kallie’s primary focus is beef cattle and stocker economics. She grew up in Soper, Oklahoma, on her family’s stocker cattle ranch. “Being raised in the business, and the amazing support I received at OSU, truly fueled my passion to help producers, understand their costs, evaluate their operations, and make sound financial decisions,” Kallie says. Whether the question involves market outlooks, or offering practical, real-world guidance, Kallie brings both the technical expertise and the producer’s perspective to the table. She will be presenting at the Okfuskee County Cattlemen’s Meeting, where she will discuss the One Big Beautiful Bill and the outlook for the upcoming Farm Bill; timely topics with real implications for Oklahoma’s cattle producers.

If you or your business would like to sponsor a portion of the meal, please contact Tom Goode at (940) 393-9815 for more information. We look forward to seeing you all at this quarterly meeting on June 20 at 6 p.m.
