After placing as the top two in June, former Senator Mike Mazzei and current Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond have battled for the GOP Nomination in the race for Oklahoma’s Governor as current Governor Kevin Stitt terms out.
With about fifty percent of the vote in- former state Senator Mike Mazzei grabbed the lead over Drummond and held a two to three thousand lead the rest of the way. His final lead was 2,040 votes over the Attorney General.
Political Analyst Scott Mitchell called this race historically close- with a switch of just over one vote per precinct across Oklahoma would have changed the result.

A former state senator who co-owns Trinity Strategic Wealth, Mazzei was the literal odds-on favorite to win the Oklahoma Republican Party runoff for governor, even as polls show him in a statistical dead heat against Gentner Drummond.
Mazzei will be heavily favored in November to succeed Gov. Kevin Stitt as he faces Democrat Cyndi Munson and two independents.
Boosting Mazzei’s odds significantly, both Trump and Stitt have endorsed the 61-year-old Tulsan, whose 16-month campaign message has been as consistent as questions about his off-beat speaking cadence and awkward “quirks,” as one legislator put it in a recent endorsement.
