Auxin-Specific Applicator Training – March 1

An Auxin Certification Training is scheduled for tomorrow at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Lubbock to satisfy the US EPA requirement for mandatory dicamba applicator training and to satisfy the Texas Department of Agriculture requirement for auxin-specific training for approved dicamba and 2,4-D formulations. EPA recently announced additional restrictions for the use of approved dicamba formulations in genetically engineered soybean and cotton, but these changes will not impact Texas. EPA could announce additional revisions. Texas Department of Agriculture has issued a Section 24 (c) Special Local Needs (SLN) label for the use of Enlist© One herbicide in the following Texas counties: Cameron, Hidalgo, San Patricio, Nueces, and Willacy for the 2023 season.

Engenia, Tavium, and Xtendimax herbicides are Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP). Only Certified Applicators may purchase and apply these products. Enlist One and Enlist Duo are State Limited Use Pesticides. Only Certified Applicators and operators working under Certified applicators may purchase these herbicides. Applicators must receive auxin-specific applicatory training to apply all the above herbicides.

Register for the training on site tomorrow. This is a one-hour training and participants will receive 1 CEU in the Laws and Regs category. There is a $10 registration fee.
