Ron Hays talks with OYE Purebred Gilt judge Ben Bobell

Over 900 Purebred gilts were evaluated on Thursday and Friday of the 2025 Oklahoma Youth Expo- and when judges Ben Bobell and Blane Olsen had the nine breed champions all around them- they liked the top Durocs from earlier in the day- making the Champion Duroc owned by Maverick Mosteller of Ft. Gibson 4-H the Supreme Champion of the Show- earning Maverick the right to have the first Purebred gilt to sell this coming Tuesday night at the 21st annual OYE Night of Stars Gilt Sale.

Reserve Supreme Champion of the Purebred commercial gilt show was the reserve champion Duroc- owned and shown by Briar Mann of Morris FFA.

About sixty of the best purebred gilts from the nine breeds will be a part of the Night of Stars Sale- which last year generated a record $1.6 million dollars from the 130 gilts that were sold. The two high purebred gilts that sold last year brought $45,000 each- the Reserve Supreme gilt that was a Berk and the fifth place Spot from the 2024 show.
