Boxed beef prices strengthened on Friday, with the Choice cutout climbing $2.62 to $375.76 and the Select cutout gaining $3.23 to $357.97. The Choice/Select spread narrowed slightly to $17.79, with total volume reported at 133 loads. Notably, the overall boxed beef composite increased $8.99 from the previous Friday’s close, marking the highest level since September 24.

Primal values were mostly higher on Friday compared to Thursday. The rib led the gains with an $8.81 increase to $621.49, followed by the plate up $4.01 to $241.37 and the loin rising $2.76 to $473.19. The chuck climbed $1.43 to $310.18, the round added $1.07 to $328.79, and the brisket moved up $1.68 to $307.12. The only decline came from the flank, which eased $0.21 lower to $200.06.
