Boxed beef was down on Thursday as Choice slipped to $373.57, a decline of $0.88 from Wednesday, while Select fell more sharply to $355.03, down $4.91. The Choice–Select spread widened to $18.54 as total movement slowed to 131 loads versus 183 the previous day.
Primals were mixed compared to Wednesday: ribs firmed slightly to $632.29 from $631.61, while chuck edged lower to $300.93 and round eased to $310.29. Loin softened to $484.71 compared with $486.40 yesterday. Brisket strengthened to $324.57 from $321.41, plate dipped to $247.66 from $248.46, and flank moved slightly lower to $190.85 versus $191.07 on Wednesday.
