With 300,000 acres already burned and wildfires still raging in Oklahoma and Kansas, Oklahoma State University Extension specialists are available for media interviews on topics related to livestock care.
Experts are available to discuss topics such as tending to livestock after a wildfire, emergency cattle nutrition, documenting losses after disasters and carcass disposal.
To schedule an interview with Rosslyn Biggs or Dave Lalman, Oklahoma State University Extension specialists for beef cattle or Barry Whitworth, senior Extension specialist for food and animal health, about animal care during and after wildfires, contact Dean Ruhl in the OSU Agriculture Office of Communications and Marketing.
OSU Extension uses research-based information to help all Oklahomans solve local issues and concerns, promote leadership and manage resources wisely throughout the state’s 77 counties. Most information is available at little to no cost.
